About Philipe
That's me
Hi, my name is Philipe. I was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland but my family is from Brazil.
I started at GetYourGuide as an internee after finishing high school. I worked here during three months and started to really like the people around here and the job itself.
After this internship I began studying mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich. Fortunately I still had some little spare time to work for GetYourGuide. So the guys agreed to employ me.
Working here during my studies is a welcome change to solving mathematical equations and mechanical problems all day long.
What I do here
I’m responsible for the look and feel of the page together with Martin, i.e. the design and all the HTML, CSS and JavaScript stuff.
I also maintain the technical and design aspects of this blog. I’m not a big writer, so you’ll see more articles from others.
What I do else
When I’m not working or studying you can usually find me hanging out with friends, playing soccer or chillin’ at the lake of Zurich (during the short summer we have here).
When I’m on my computer I like to create stuff. Some time ago I developed a Widget for Mac OS X Dashboard called To Do. If I had more time I would love to create a Mac App or an iPhone App because developing on these platforms is just awesome. I hope someday we will code an iPhone App here at work.
